Chail

Chail is a hill station located in Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 1883 meters above sea level. This hill station is nearly 40 km from Shimla. This place is surrounded with pine and deodar forest. As obvious, this place is pleasant in summer months and chilly in winter. The major attractions of this hill station are Chail Sanctuary, cricket ground surrounded by forests and Chail Gurudwara.

Dharamshala

This famous hill station of Himachal Pradesh is situated at an elevation of 1457 meters above sea level. This place is nearly 18 km from Kangra Valley. The surrounding coniferous forest makes this hill station all the more beautiful. Dhauladhar Mountain consist a huge part of this hill station. The main attractions of Dharamshala are Triund Hill, Pong Dam Lake, Dal Lake, Dari, Namgyal Monastery and many more. Triund Hill is also known as jewel of Dharamshala and is only 9 km away from McLeod Ganj.

McLeod Ganj

McLeod Ganj is one of the famous hill stations of Himachal Pradesh located at an altitude of 2082 meters above sea level. This hill station is a part of Dharamshala of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. This hill station is situated on Dhauladhar range.

Dalhousie

The beautiful hill station of Himachal Pradesh, Dalhousie, is located 1954 meters above sea level. This hill station is one of the most famous hill stations of India. The British were the proud founders of this place in 1854. The five famous hills top namely Kathalagh, Potreyn, Terah, Bakrota and Bhangora surrounds this hilly area. DainKund Peak, Bakrota Hills and Lohali Village are some of the major attractions of this place.

Kasauli

This colonial hill station of Himachal Pradesh is situated at an altitude of 1800 meters. This hill station is 77 km away from Shimla, 94 km away of Ambala and 65 km from Chandigarh. This hill station has a pleasant climate with winter temperature ranging from 2 to 5 degree Celsius and summer temperature not above 30 degree Celsius. The famous tourist spots of this region are Central Research Institute, Kasauli Club.

Kullu

The capital of Himachal Pradesh, Kullu is the most famous hill station of this region. Located at an elevation of 1220 meters above sea level on the banks of Beas River, Kullu is a beautiful destination. Some of the most famous mountain peaks is located in Kullu. This makes Kullu all the more attractive for tourist and hence Kullu is rated as one of the favorite destination for tourists. Some of the famous temples are located in Kullu like Raghunath Temple and Bijli Mahadev Temple.

Manali

Located at an elevation of 1950 meters above sea level, Manali is the most beautiful hill station of Himachal Pradesh. This hill station is located in Kullu district 270 km away from Shimla. Although a small town with less population Manali offers the best tourist destination of Himachal Pradesh. The famous attractions of Manali are Hadimba Devi Temple, Rahala Falls, Arjun Gufa and Tibetan Monasteries.

The capital city of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla is located at a height of 2205 meters. The beautiful boundaries of Shimla make it all the more beautiful. It is surrounded by Kullu in the north, Solan in the south and Kinnaur in the east. Jakhu Hills, Summer Hills, Junda are the famous spots of Shimla that attracts tourists throughout the year.

Kufri

Nearly 13 km away from the state capital Shimla, Kufri is a small hill station of Himachal Pradesh. Mahasu Peak is the highest peak of Kufri. This is a famous destination for trekking purpose. Indira Tourist Park, Kufri Fun World, Chini Bunglow are the other famous attractive spots of Kufri.

Barog

This small hill station is located in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. This hill station is 1520 meters above sea level. Dagshai, Gaura, Karol Goofa are the attractive tourist spots in this region. The tunnel in Shimla-Kalka Railway is the central attraction of this place.

Kiarighat

This small hill station of Himachal Pradesh is situated at a height of 1800 meters above sea level. This hill station is situated in Kalka Shimla National Highway. The well known JP University is only 8 km away from this place. The pleasant weather of this place is the central attraction for tourists. Tourists can stay for one night in this hilly area. There are nearby hotels that will help tourists in their stay.
 

Palampur

Located in the Kangra Valley region of Himachal Pradesh, Palampur is the green hill station, nearly 1472 meters above sea level. This place is not only famous for the presence of beautiful mountains but also famous as the capital of tea production in the northwest part of India. Along with the magnificent mountains there are streams flowing from the plains and mountains.  This is the beautiful junction of streams on one side and mountains on the other. This amazing contrast makes it all the more attractive.

Lahaul and Spiti

The hilly area of Himachal Pradesh was formed in 1960 with the merging of two different districts Lahaul and Spiti. Kunzum Pass at an altitude of 4551 meters is the entrance point from Lahaul to Spiti. This place is connected to Manali via Rohtang Pass.

Thaneek Pura

This is a famous hill station located in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. This hilly area is located near the Chintpurni Temple. Apart from the scenic beauty that attracts people the presence of different temples in this area also attracts devotees from all over the world. Famous temples like Radha Krishna Temple, Baba Balak Nath Temple are located in this region.

Jogindernagar

Located in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh this hill station is also a Nagar Panchayat. This place is famous because Jogindernagar is the only place in India having three hydro electric power supply stations. This town is beautifully surrounded by mountains covered with Pine and Deodar forests. Haulage-way Trolley is a cable wire that goes from 4000 feet to 8000 feet on a railway track is the center of attraction of this place.
