People of Himachal Pradesh are highly talented and are efficient in making beautiful objects by hand work. The various forms of arts and crafts in the state include Carpets, leather works, shawls, paintings, metal ware, woodwork and paintings etc. The extremely creative handicraft products of tribal people are appreciating. Dom (a tribe community) is expert in manufacturing bamboo items like boxes, sofas, chairs, baskets and rack. Clay pots and statuettes are also famous and make for a good buy. Metal wares of the state include utensils, ritualistic vessels, idols, gold and silver jewelleries.

Nowhere else in the country the costumes and ornaments of the people are as exotic, divergent and colourful as in Himachal Pradesh. People of Himachal simply love to dress up in colourful and delicately embroidered clothes. Several ranges of hand finished clothes are found in various parts of the state. Chamba and Lahaul are famous for bright rumals and traditional foot wears. A typical “Kullu topi” is sold in bazaars of Himachal Pradesh in abundance along with gloves, mufflers and caps.
